They are a mix of a cocker spaniel and poodle, It doesn't matter matter how much they cost. It's still a mix of two different breeds.

really? i think they're still mutts. I have a maltipoo and am looking forward to getting more from the poo family, but I got my maltipoo for 6 hundred. Can I enter my pup into any shows?

They are the only 'designer' breed, that is bred by reputable breeders, and are trying for AKC breed establishment..They have been developing this cross breed for the past 40 years, fulfilling new breed requirements, and are likely to be excepted by AKC before much longer..the correct term for them is cockapoo

Cockapoos are a crossbreed between a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle. They are not a purebred dog, although there are many breeders out there attempting to develop a breed from them. For them to become a recognized breed from one of the many kennel clubs (AKC, UKC, IKC, etc.) they need to breed true to a standard for 6 to 8 generations.

A mutt is any dog that is a combination of 2 or more different breeds. So yes, a coc-a-poo is a mutt. The fact that they can be falsely advertised as OMG Hypoallerginic (WRONG) and various other things cannot change the fact that they are a cross breed, a mutt.
