could human medication make a young dog go into sudden renal failure2007-11-25 3:00:26

my young dog passed away. i have a feeling he was poisoned

There are several medications that we take but will cause renal failure in dogs. Also anti-freeze which dogs like the sweet taste of will cause crystallization in the kidneys and then death. A lot of tmes with anti-freeze there are just the crystal left. Advil and Tylenol will also cause renal failure.

I don't know if you killed your dog, but you cant give animal human medication not even creams. I put a detol solution on my dog and it burnt it's skin.

No, I just can't think of it as an indication of over medication either.

Since the desease couldn't have trasmitted to humanes, for whatever reasons,if they are, please don't bither to to many books on humanity either tho'. Since no involvement of the UN/WHO could be trace back, I would suggest that natural disaster had killed you dog, what ever thrace it was been classified on. a Labradoir or Sain Bernhard or common wolf as any other.

yes. there are many meds that people take that can harm or be fatal to dogs and all animals. you would have to have a necropsy ( that's an animal autopsy) to find out what it was though. ask your vet if that's possible for you. ask them to do a toxicity level in the bloodwork if you can. it might cost you more but if you tell the vet you suspect deliberate poisoning they might do it free. good luck. p.s. the sfaspca has programs for people with limited incomes too. good luck again )
