Does your chihuahua have "backward sneezes"? Why does it happen and how can you get rid of it?
Answers:I also have a Chihuahua and she does it too. But it also may not be a 'Backwards Sneeze" (actually "Reverse Sneeze")It she does it after a little bit of excerise,excitement,. I forgot thr rest,anyway it may be a tracheal collapse.But the backwards sneezing you cannot get rid of. But tracheal collapses you can with surgery. So I would watch her very closley.

i have a chihuahua/pom mix now.she does that too. Actually, when my yorkie was still alive, my vet had explained something to me about sometimes little dogs get excited and their wind pipe does that. i don't know much about it though.
I have a chihuahua/manchester terrier mix and she does it too, I heard it is because they get excited. Guess it's a chihuahua/small dog thing!
I have a toy dog who reverse sneezes. It's usually a couple of times and that's it. If your dog is doing it more frequently or you notice her having difficulty breathing for longer than 15 seconds, she needs to get into a vet. : )
Yes I have a Chihuahua and she backward sneezes occasionally. It doesn't cause her much nuisance .. but if you have the slighest of concern take her to the vet.
