Good Luck to you, you are gonna need it.
they will work it out. do not seperate them, you will make it worse. they need to figure out who is alfa, and then they will stop, my dogs did it until they were both over a year old, and they were from the same litter. dont worry.
Thats the thing you cant leave them together, there trying to see who is going to be Alpha Male, so there going to fight until one backs down, its going to be ugly. My friend has a Pit bull And a German Shep, who were doing the same thing, one day we came over and the pit bull was on the floor almost dead. If you crate your dogs, seperate the crates. IF they live in the keneels the move them away from each other. If they dont have neither, then suprivisve them.
u could try to put one in the cage and switch them every couple of hours or u could get muzzles
I'm afraid to say i have had this before but different situation,
main problem is you got the younger dog too late for the older one he doesn't want to be acting like a puppy in his twilight years they need also to be seperated before one does the other serious damage not rehoming 1 is a selfish option and youv'e got to think of the dogs do you really want them to be agressive towards eacother so you cant enjoy them and who knows one day they might be arguing and get you by accident!
Do the right thing dont make everyones life a misery!
The younger dog clearly needs training. He seems to think that he's the pack leader here, not you. This needed to be stopped the very day it started, not be allowed to go on. You need to treat these dogs so they both know that you are the boss. Your younger dog needs to go for obedience training with an instructor who's methods you trust and who has an understanding of dog behaviour.
