I just bought three variatus platies, 2 females and... one hermaphrodite? This platy has male anal fins but has a gravid spot. He/she/it is about 1.5 in. long. Sorry I can't take a pic, it wouldn't make a difference, my camera's bad. I swear this thing has male anal fins and a gravid area (uterus.) What the heck is with this thing?

Are you sure it's a gravid spot and not just poop showing through?

I used to have Balloon Mollies and sometimes I'd think my females may be pregnant and then they'd just poop and what I thought was a gravid spot would go away :)

Are you sure that the platy has a gonopodium AND a gravid spot? It has to be one or the other...
