Black moor goldfish
If i had to buy 2 small oranda goldfish 1-2 inch and grow them till they were quite big say.. a handfull size, Would they be worth much money? and what size of tank would i need to grow them to this size? would a 60 gal tank be big anough? I have other fantail types of goldfish just now.
Answers:It really depends on how many other goldfish are going to be in the tank. You should be able to keep 5 or 6 in a 60 gallon to adulthood, assuming you are willing to do weekly waterchanges with a siphon. Depending on the quality of the goldfish's genetics and the quality of it's care, an adult goldfish can be worth some money. If you buy cheap goldfish and grow it out, you will now have a big cheap goldfish. If you spend the extra money and get the fish from an importer, your fish will be worth considerably more money.
Most goldfish at adulthood will cost from $20.00 to $40.00USD while there is some imports that cost from $30.00 to $60.00USD the show quality ones cost the most $50.00+.
So i would say for the handful size you have $10.00+ USD it also depends on its coloration and health.
To grow goldfish to handfulsize, i would say 4 to 6 in your tank.
Hope this info helps
