Bleeding goldfish scales and shredded tail
I have 3 goldfish and 2 of them are orange and the other one is white. the white one has its tail and body covered in blood, but it doesn't seem its bleeding. the other 2 goldfish, both has its tails are bleeding, however, my other orange one has a fantail but the tail is shredded like peeled dried squid. I just changed the water last month? and normally I would changed it every 2-3 months. I kept them for 4-5 years already. Any ideas maybe? or websites thanks !
Answers:I would assume from the way you describe them they have parasites eating them. You can get tablets to drop in the water and get rid of it.If there are little balls of white stuff it's ick they have a tablet for that also.I would try the Parasite tablets first if there are no balls of fluff.I believe you treat the tank then do a 25% water change and then treat it again. It will tell you on the box or bottle. The Parisite remover also comes in liquid. It is sold at any pet store , even Wal-Mart carries it.Good luck saving them I hope you get it treated in time. They cant survive without their tails for balance.
Your water condition has good south. Do more water change.
I would recommend that you do 50% water change twice weekly for the next 2 weeks. Just remember to add water conditional to remove the chlorine when you do the change.
At the same time add 0.01% salt into your water (ie. 1g per litre) you replace.
That should solve your blood shot and shredded tail problem.
