I have 3 mollies and am getting for 4 guppies for my 10 gallon tank. I have a black mystery snail. My 2 main questions are:
1. How many more snails can I get?
2. Can I get a few ghost shrimp? Also, does any one know of good websites about ghost shrimp?
Thanks!
Answers:You can have up to 12 fish in a 10 gallon tank: 6 mollies and 6 guppies.
The answer to your questions:
1.) You can have up to two is my suggestion.
2.) You may have trouble with the ghost shrimp being attacked by the other fish but if you still want them, here is a link below about them.
if you get one more, you will soon have too many. Ghost shrimp will get eaten.
If you do a yahoo or google search for "ghost shrimp", you'll get all kinds of information. In such a small tank, you don't really need all that many snails.
ghost shrimp are great bottom cleaners -- unfortunately i have never run across very good information on them. about all i can suggest get a lot of them -- you really don't need to worry about the space they take up. mine will go for a long time and then the whole group will die off in a few weeks. i have never found any information on the hows and whys. they are very inexpensive to replace though.
