Can 2 betta fish live in the same bowl2007-11-24 23:10:24

Yeah they will fight if you have both of them in the same bowl. I had one of those fish tanks where there was a plastic divider between the fish. And after awhile they both looked really stressed out (their fins got frayed and they didn't shine) from looking at each other. Maybe a male and female??

One betta fish shouldn't live in a bowl, much less two.

Most bowls are far too small to make a betta happy. They can survive in them, sure, but they're not really enjoying it.

If you want multiple bettas, you could pick up a ten gallon starter kit (go for the tropical one, it has a heater) at most pet stores or even Wal-Mart. Then you can buy one or two plastic inserts that serve as tank dividers, letting you keep multiple bettas in the same tank, next door to each other. This still gives them plenty of space to explore and gives you greater control over the quality of their water, too.

YES they will fight u also cant put any other fish in the bowl they will kill them i had 2 betas 1 killed the other and wee put 2 guppies in the bowl and were GONE the next day!!

2 male bettas should not be in the same tank unless u had a big tank and a divider. i had to male bettas and i put them in the same tank and they will fight until one dies.

I had two males live together with no problems before. Maybe in the wild they might fight but the ones in the store are tame. They will be fine so don't worry about it.
