Can 2 betta fish live in the same bowl

1. No males with other male bettas.

2. No males with other female bettas.

3. Female bettas can be kept together, but only in groups of three or more, to establish a pecking order. This also requires a 10 gallon tank.

That's it. Period.

People try to bend these rules and alter them hoping that they can keep these increasingly popular fish together. Admittedly, it would look great to have a community tank of gorgeous bettas swimming around together. But you can't beat nature, and you can't beat their instinct. It doesn't work. Sorry.

If you want your betta to have a friend, increase the size of your tank to a 5 gallon tank. Then you can keep him with a frog, or a snail, or a small group of schooling fish. In a bowl, he can barely survive, let alone with anyone else.
