Can I put 2 Female Beta fish together in the same tank
Can I put 2 Female Beta fish together in the same tank2007-11-24 23:10:41
I have a good sized beta tank with a light and everything, really nice. And I just got a female beta fish today, shes pretty small and doesn't take up much room actually, it might be hard to spot her at first because I have a couple plants in there also. But anyways I was wondering if I could put another female beta in with her, not a male cause I know you can't do that unless they are ready to mate. Thanx.
Answers:Yes you can. Sometimes female Betta's will fight, but not nearly as often as Males with any other Betta will. It does happen with females sometimes, but not often enough for someone to say don't put females togeather. Should be just fine.

It's likely that they will kill each other unless you have a lot of hiding places for them.
Yea femal betas are fine to put together, just let them have ample room.
yea you can.. cause its just the males that fight .. the females are alot calmer
yes. I have three females in one tank. NEVER Add the male unless it is mating though.
Two female Bettas are a bad idea. One will dominate the other. I would recommend 3-4, not 2. This will allow whichever one is the most aggressive plenty of others to 'pick on', and will help relieve each of them the stress of always being chased.
