1. It'll grow to about a foot and a half
2. Goldfish are coldwater, and pacus are tropical (warm water).

Don't get a pacu most people don't have the money or the space to buy a pacu the necessary aquarium. They are schooling fish of around 5 and they need a tropical pond.

I do hope you are aware that pacus are actually close relatives of the piranha, and require a bare minimum of 30 gallons when young. He will definitely need something much larger when he grows, and he will grow very fast.
Also, he is a tropical fish, and goldfish are coldwater fish, so no, they are not compatible tankmates.
