Can fish cure themselves2007-11-24 23:10:33
One morning I noticed one of our goldfish was swimming upside down. I was sure that we were going to lose him. But half an hour later he flipped over and has been find for the past three days. Can fish cure themselves?
Answers:Hi Christina, I'm guessing you are referring to a round fancy Goldfish? They are prone to flip over problems & sometimes these are nothing more serious than constipation so in this case he appeared to clear the blockage as it were! A good method of helping them out if you notice this in future is to feed small amounts of cooked, shelled peas. These act as a mild laxative. If possible try to feed his regular food little & often rather than all in one go to ensure proper digestion.
yes -- they are a lot like you -- if you get sick it doesn't mean you are dying necessarily.
ya it can happen it could have been a momentary "man i feel like junk" thing.
Yes they can. When my fish get ich I give them garlic to boost there immune system and they are able to fight off ich..I have not lost a fish to ich in a long time.So yeah there own immune systems can fight off things just like ours can.
