Fish do sleep. Their eye-lids are transparent membrane and hence we feel that the fish do not have eye-lids. The eye-lids of fish are not like flaps (not like human beings) so you will not see blinking of eyes happening in case of fish. Whenever the fish is sleeping, her movement will be zero, fish will not wave the fins. It breaths through mouth so her mouth / lips would be moving even if it is sleeping.

Yes, Fish Does Sleep! Some Fishes stop swimming when they are asleep, some will still move while asleep (so, how you know he's asleep? He will bump softly onto wall/decor while it swim..)

Ya fishes do sleep as a matter of fact all animals sleep ! When i was in school and preparing for my medical entrance i read in a biology book that HORSES SLEEP WHILE STANDING AND FISHES SLEEP WITHOUT CLOSING THEIR EYES ! I used to wonder how exciting that would be. But now when i got in medical college i kept an aquarium and to my suprise fishes do sleep if you happen to watch some they ill settle in the bottom makin very less movements. They are sleeping then !
