Can i use general cure parasite medication with pimafix or melafix that are all made by the same pro2007-11-24 23:10:45

Stop all that medicating! Melafix does not work for anything and is a total waste of money. You mix all that stuff and you will definatly kill your fish. Just change the water and clean the filter. Get a good antibiotic food. Messing with the water chemistry is always a bad idea. You are over medicating. Fish get sick because the water is not ideal. Get rid of ammonia and nitrite and keep nitrates below 20 ppm and your fish will not get sick. Change more than 25% of the water when things start to go bad. Do a 75% water change today, return the carbon to the filter. Change 50% day after tomorrow. Then test your water, if its good No ammonia or nitrites and nitrates exceptable, then heat the tank to 83 degrees and add one tablespoon of non iodized rock salt per gallon. Leave in this concentration for 2 weeks and gradually bring the temp back down to normal and change water with out replacing the salt. Feed anti-biotic food for 2 weeks also. Adding meds is not always the answer. Salt 9 times out of 10 will cure the fish, especially with heat. The petstores will never tell you about salt. Think of this, people have been keeping fish in captivity for hundreds of years, how do you think they kept them alive with out petco? They used salt. Most of that other stuff is not needed to cure fish, especially primafix and melafix, the most useless stuff on the market today.

these white zitz sound like the parasite, white spot, which is easily treated with white spot treatment! Easy as that, pop down to your pet shop and they should help you

i dont about mixing another companys medicine with another but pimafix and mailfix work fine to gether and it sounds like fungus to me of if its breegin season and you have goldfish it could just be turbicles next time identify species and where the infection is
