yes they can! shubunkins are a goldfish, its just the type or "breed" of goldfish theyre called. as long as the other goldfish are the long sleek kind like the shubunkins, its no problem. watch adding the fatter bodied ones like ryunkins or orandas. those fish swim in a way that the shubunkins think they are dying, and they will pick away at them. other then that all goldfish are pretty much carp. so they should do fine!

A shubumkin is a goldfish. General rule of thumb, single tails with single tails, double tails with double tails, modified eyed goldfish with modified eye goldfish. Mixing can cause competition for food problems. Single tails are faster and can see better than thier fancier cousins. Moors, celestials and bubble eyes cannot see very well at all and cannot compete for food with comets, koi or shubumkins. Double tailed fish are slower swimmers than single tailed fish.

There are exceptions, you can mix single tailed fish with ryukin, fantails, wakin, or jikin.
