yes, its called stunting.

its inhumane and just not right.

the body will stop growing because its tank is not large enough for it. its internal organs will CONTINUE to grow, even though its body has stopped growing. the organs will crowd and lead to an extremely early and painful death of the poor animal.

if someone cannot properly house a fish, they should NOT be allowed to buy it.

That's b.s. that pet stores tell people who buy tanks & fish so they think they'll never need to replace thier tank.

The shark (or whatever fish it is) will grow as much as it can until the tank can no longer provide a healthy enough habitat for it to grow and remain healthy.
