Compatible in a 55 Gallon tank2007-11-24 23:11:03
Okay, I'm planning on getting a 55 Gallon tank soon and was wondering...I have 6 platys, 14 guppies(fry), 5 tetras, 2 female bettas, 2 african dwarf frogs all of which I know are compatible but I was wondering...would 3 fancy Goldfish be okay with them??
Answers:The african dwarf frogs won't eat any of the fish, with the exception being small fry, which is on every fish's menu anyway. I would avoid the goldfish though. They have different dietary requirements, and different temperature requirements. They also produce a large amount of ammonia which could be toxic to your fry. I would get a separate cold water tank for the goldfish.
The fancy goldfish are fine, but when the frogs get bigger, they may start eating the fish.
in a 55 gallontank no way gold fish get a little too big and also u will need a really big filter so no. :( but if there on their own in a 55 gallon then its fine
No goldfish get huge and they are coldwater fish, but the fish you have are tropical fish. I would get more tetras of the same kind and maybe a bottom feeder like a gold nugget pleco (6") or a small school of otocinclus to add.
