I just bought two new mickey mouse platies 3 days ago, they are both female, and I just now noticed when feeding them that one is fatter that the other, is this because it is pregnant? or could it just be fatter for some other reason?
Answers:Keep an eye on her! Chances are she's pregnant. Can you see a gravid spot with little eyes near her anal fin? If so, she's definitely preggers! Many livebearers only need one fertilization to produce several broods of young. They store the sperm packets within and fertilize themselves.
If its female then it probably is pregnant.by the male fish in the tank where you bought it.They are prolific breeders
