DESPERATE NEED OF HELP pleeeaase i cant stop worrying
I have a around 27 Litre tank and in there i have 1 kissing gourami 1 black widow tetra/black skirt tetra and 1 black sailfin molly.
I realised after doing quite a big water change yesterday my black (sailfin, i think?) molly started to get ich again i think.
This wasn't the first time. I think its coz it got lots of stress from the water change yesterday and now it has this cottony white stuff growing on its mouth around its head.
(its doesn't look it cotton)
This was the same symptom like when it first had ich before.
I was very worried as it kept hiding behind the cup i put in (as equipment for the fish, they seem to enjoy it =D )
It didn't do this before.
So i put some methylene blue in, about 3 to 5ml.
Will this harm the fish if it wasn't ich?? only one of the fish has symptons.
Im very very scared and worried coz like the water is all blue!!!
And i forgot to take the filter thingo out (the cartridge)
My filter looks like the waterfall one.
Please help =[
Answers:Relax!
You are not harming your fish.
The water is supposed to be blue and will stay that way for some time. Leave your filter cartridge out because the activated charcoal will weaken the methylene blue.
You won't hurt the fish if the filter is out for a day.
Do a 20% water change 24 hours after treating the water with methylene blue and replace your filter cartridge at that time. Make sure the new water is the same temperature as the tank.
