When I went to look at my crayfish I noticed therem what looked like a dead crayfish in 2 sections the front part of it's body and the tail.

Leave it for 24 hours- some crayfish will eat it and it is a good source of protein and calcium for them. If he doesn't eat some or all of it within 24 hours, take it out so it doesn't rot and pollute the water. Your crayfish will do this the rest of his life and if he loses a claw or leg it will grow back the next time he molts.
