NO, because you can't put an Oscar in a 5 gallon tank - Oscars grow bigger then your whole tank, and doing this will stunt his growth and kill him. Nothing less then a 50 gallon for an Oscar if you care at all about its well being and life.

the basic answer is an oscar shouldn't be in a 5 gallon as A) it will outgrow it way to fast to cycle the tank and B) they can be very dirty fish in such a small tank and the maintenance work would be way to much.
