Fish tank filter set up
hi i just got a fish tank at a garage sale and it didnt come with directions
the motor says to keep it out of the water and above water leaval
i have it on a book case so i put the moter on the next shelf up
is it safe to set it there or should i let it hang?
Answers:What kind of motor are you referring to? If it is an air pump, keeping it above the tank will allow the pump to flow more air than if it was all the way down on the floor. I would leave it on the shelf above the tank. If you could provide a picture, I could instruct you better.

Keep the motor and the water outlet above the water. Do reasearch before you go buy 10 fish throw them in a tank. New fish keepers often make mistakes (like i did myself), Do lots of research on keeping fish, What there water requeiments are, Compatabily, Cycle process, Etc
