How many weather loaches should I keep2007-11-24 23:34:46

I was told two, but reading general loach info they said that they do best in groups of 3-5 or more. Anyone know?

Weather Loaches are great aren't they? I love that fish and when they reach maturity they look so awesome. I have been keeping fish both Fresh and salt for over 30 years. They do best in groups over three it is a social thing almost ranks like the military like. Anyway they are great and they do good in community tanks as well.

It doesn't say, but their temperment is listed as "Peaceful", and that their socialability is "Groups".

You may have to just experiment and find out - you could be the first to document their behavior in groups of 3 to 5!

I've had dojo (weather) loaches. I've had them single, but they seem to prefer a cooler water temp. Mine never made it very long, neither did they at the pet store. That's when the guy told me they needed cooler water. Just a thought.
