I might be getting one if they are cheap enough.. can you please answer these?

1.) How much do they cost?

2.) What kind of food do they eat?

3.)What is their lifespan?

4.) Can they be with other tropical fish?

5.) Can you give me a website and more info?? I really want to know more!!

1) Well, I have seen batches of 50 eggs for sale on Ebay for as low as $15. Liveaquaria.com sells pairs for $30-$40 each. So, the cost varies with common varieties and eggs sold for less. Mated pair adult fish and rarer varieties selling for more.

2) They will eat normal tropical fish food, flakes and such but they like live foods like brine shrimp and daphnia. To get them into breeding condition you would use lots of live foods.

3) The annual species (the ones that live in puddles that dry up in a few months in the wild) will only live about a year in an aquarium. Not all killies are annuals, though. Non-annual killies would live a few years.
