How much does a 10 gal aquarium weigh2007-11-24 23:34:49

My 10 gal in my b-room is filled to the brim and is on this old vanity that I've had since i was 12. I was looking at it this morning, and i saw that it was bowing (bending) towards the middle. It's been there for 2 months, and i don't think that i have gotten it wet, but should I move my aquarium anyway? I still want to know how much it would weigh?

About 150 pounds, thats with gravel and water. I would move it, why take the chance of having it all over your room.

1 gallon of water weighs about 8.33 pounds, so you are talking 83.3 pounds for the water and maybe 10 more for the tank?

A gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds. That is 80 pounds of water, that does not include the weight of the Aquarium itself, the rock .. which can weigh quite a bit .. If you see that it is bowing .. It'd get it off that thing right away. Good Luck! :)

They're pretty damn heavy. You may need to empty some of the water out to move it by yourself, or have someone help you.
