How much does a coral reef weighs
You can't put a weight on a coral reef since a reef is made up of separate individuals building on top of there older skeletons. They can be any size. The larger one is of course the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. But there are coral reefs locate all over the globe IE. Fiji, Philippines, Hawaii, Bahamas, even off the coast of Florida.
P.S. They skeletons that LPS (Large Polyp Stony), and SPS (Small Polyp Stony) corals create are Calcium Carbonate they metabolize out of the calcium in the the water so I guess you would have to find out how much that weighs and also factor in the actual animals living on it with are mostly water.
FYI: the Great Barrier Reef is the only living structure that you can see from space. =)
Up to several thousand pounds.
They are always getting bigger unless they die.
look it up on google
i honeslty dont know
There are thousands of coral reefs of different sizes. Even a small coral head a couple of metres high and two or three metres long will weigh a tonne or more. Most large reefs, atolls, fringing or barrier are massive and their weight will be in millions of tonnes

It would depend on the size of the reef. However, if you added up the mass of the corals, the fish, the invertebrate life forms, a large one would weigh in the tons.
