How to cure Ick

How to cure Ick2007-11-24 23:34:54

I have treated my fish for ick, and was wondering if anybody knew how often to treat them. Do you put treatment in the water every day?

Answers:

Follow the directions on the treatment label. Each treatment is different I'd hate to give you the wrong advice and put your fish in danger. If you lost the label or directions call a local pet store and they should be able to help you out!

If you have treated them then you shouldnt have to all the time. Especially after it all clears. Never fix whats not broke. The treatment you got should have directions as to how your suppose to use it and for how long. After that dont use it again. It may take some time to clear but it should work. And good luck!
buy tablets at your local pet store and do a half tank water change right away.
maracide used it for years.
i personally like copper only have to treat once a month, but pretty much any of the blue stuff you have to treat for at least 5 days putting meds in once a day or twce a day if using rid-ich if you didnt read label do you know you have to remove your carbon from your filters when treating unles using maracide or copper
ichthyophthirius multifiliis (ich-ick).Isolate fish. Treat with a medication containing formalin and malachite green. Repeat as indicated on the product. Ick comes in many forms but the treatment is the same though. Also do not put your Aquarium near a place that gets sunlight as that will also cause you some problems. Here are some suggested products though.Rid ich,cure-ich, quick- cure,formalin,ick- clear,parasite- clear,copper-safe, and maracide. Hope this is helpful any questions your local pet store owners offer advise to ,always better to get advise from professionals though.
There's lots of different ways to treat it. Sometimes I've noticed that fish get ick if the water isn't warm enough. Check your temp. If your using a med already follow the directions but if you aren't I think that using Melafix and uniodized salt works best. You can ask someone at your local petstore how to use them. I really wouldn't do anything major like move the tank or change the water until the fish are better. If you mess w/ the bacteria in the tank the fish will get more upset and start dropping like flies.
No bro - in fact you can save yourself a lot of money by simply raising the temp in your tank to about 85-86 degrees (provided you species of fish can tolerate that temp), and simply use Evaporated Sea Salt.
