Yesterday

i got a some new fish. i got 2 platys 2 neons..1 discu..1 cubby kind of goldfish * in chinese its called Goodluck fish*.a pleco..2 fish with huge stomachs that dangle. and thats all. i got some wafers that my algae dont eat and my gold fish is always in this little rock. the discu is just in the corner adn he doesnt move much.. WHAT IS WRONG? the gold fish and the discus dont eat!! ims so scared. and also i got 2 dwarf gourmais.one is orange little red blue and grey mosty range.. the other is grey but has little orange dots. not that much.. what is the male and female or they both the same? i need help so that my pleco will eat this wafers and the gold fish adn discu eat the flakes-_-. plz help. i love them=[

You over crowded your tank before it had the time to cycle - build up the beneficial bacteria that will turn the ammonia (fish waste) into harmless nitrates. You will have to do water changes of about 30% every other day for a week. Use bottled spring water rather then dechlorinated tap water. Add some salt for freshwater fish into your aquarium which will help protect against problems like ich and toxic water levels. You will then need to return some of the fish to the store. Probably the goldfish and neons which require cooler temperatures. Then you will have to buy a heater and set it to 79.

Your question was sort of rushed and irratic, but when I try to make heads from tails on this basically your fish are sort of acting like they are in shock. They could be sick, have you added 'ICK REMOVER' to your tank yet? You can pick up ick remover locally, but certain fish can be killed by it so read the side of the label. Make sure the water is not too cold or too hot, keep it out of direct light. Get a lamp for it etc.

If you just got all these new fish all at once they may not feel safe around the other fish. Also try other food call the place you got them and tell them what is going on and you need help.

Discu fish are very hard to keep alive! They are slow moving fish for one thing and you have him in there with fast moving fish that will bet him to the food every time! Discu are beautiful, but the water temp requirements and water condition requirements are very demanding! I would take the dicu back, it will more than likely die. Don't worry about the pleco, feed him his wafers only once every three days, he will come around to liking them. The gold fish>..hmmm, not sounding good at all.
