The "triplets" don't bother any of our other fish, just each other and the Betta, we took him out. We also have an Angelfish an a Pictus Catfish.
blue paradise, blue paradise gouramis Answers: I don't know if it is all gourami's, but I have a few paradise gourami's and they are labrynth fish, the type that breath air from the water's surface as well as through their gills. These types of fish tend to be agressive with each other (males at least), and toward other labrynth fish (i.e. bettas). Hope that helps.
Gouramis of all types tend to be very aggressive, both with each other and (sometimes) with other fish. I've had success keeping large groups in a large tank (the larger the group, the more "spread out" the aggression gets), but keeping only a few, particularly in a smaller tank, generally doesn't work out well.
Each fish needs to in a seprate tank. They very aggressive and personal on space

It seems you have a mixture of males and females. If there are two males and one female. The males fight over her. To include any other fish that happens to be in the way. They also use the nipping as a tool to show dominance. if you get a few more females, this may not help with all the nipping but it may help distribute the problem out a little. Sounds awful sorry, there just an aggressive fish.
Actually, Gourami's are semi-aggressive fish. I have always had them in my tanks. Right now I have four different types of them in my tank. I have blue dwarf gouramis, blue gouramis, blue paradise gouramis and sunset gouramis. They only get really nippy at feeding time, which is normal, since they think they need to fight for food. they don't bother each other any other time. My entire 75 gallon tank consists of semi-aggressive fish and non aggressive fish. I have some tetras, angel fish, 3 catfish, and 2 sucker-fish in there also. I have never had a major problem with them fighting each other. The fish store only told me that I couldn't put chiclids in the same tank with anything else because they would kill it. Which is true because I tried it. I have come to find out that they don't really attack each other it seems more of a game. They chase each other around for a while then swim around as friends for a bit to. I have had these fish in my tank for two years and no problem with them destroying each other yet. They are almost at full growth to.
