It's a heated 10 gallon with 4 platies and 2 comets.
Answers:The pottery is either dissolving or the colors are not color fast. Any chemicals released into the mater may be hazardous to the fish. I have used regular clay (Red ) pots in aquariums for a breeding cave for eqq layers and not had a problem with the material clouding the water or dissolving in the water. I would remove the pots and change the water.
Hopefully you soaked them first.
Not a fish expert here, but I'm assuming that the cloudy water is due to the pottery dissolving a bit in the water, since water is Earth's "universal solvent". Since fish's "breathe" water, the materials in the clay (or whatever it is the pottery is made of) could end up poisoning the fish, so I'd suggest cleaning the water and avoiding putting anything in the tank that could be dissolved even slightly.
If you did not soak them before putting them in, then that would most certainly be the source of this bloom.
You should not put anything in your tank unless it is marked "aquarium safe" is Terra cotta (without a glaze) or is clear smooth glass. Other objects can cause problems like cloudy water and much worse. They can leak things into the water slowly poisoning your fish. It could take a couple of years for somethings to build up in their little fishie bodies. Just when you are really getting attached to them.
