First question, do you have a brackish water tank? If not, then you would just be condemning it to a slow death. Blowfish (puffers) can exist in freshwater for a while, but they need salt in their water to stay healthy.

Do a google search for puffers (blowfish) and follow the care and feeding instructions there.

its fun to have blowfish, they a bit like dog while they know you are their master ..

to have them, you need to buy blackish to put into the water, add salt,, and keep different freeze shrimps or blood worm for his food..

their tank have to keep clean, so you must have filter and pump.. or they will surfer ..

ATTENTION! When I see puffer fish being sold in Walmarts I get sick!! Why? Because I know they are all going to die! Why? Because they are a brackish fish, they are territorial and they eat live food only. So most people get them home and starve them to death or if you put more than one in the tank they will fight till there is only one left. I had one for 5 years. Fed him live food for 3 years till I weaned him off onto fish food. (trained him) He was one of the best fish I ever had. This puffer had a personality and would beg for food. A puffer is a great pet.
