If a starfish was cut into half, would it regrow into two starfish2007-11-24 23:35:57

I have seen 21 legged starfish here in Puget Sound that had 32 legs- which means for every time a leg got cut off, it grew two more legs. This pictular starfish was quite large- about 2 feet across and quite heavy.

As far as the english stuff with Starfish? I have NO IDEA!!

Actually yes.it depends on the species.but if you cut up a starfish those pieces have the potential to each grow into a new animal.

NO that is not correct. I work in a salt water aquarium store where we import blue starfish otherwise know as linkias, we have chocolate chip starfish, pearly white starfish, etc. many different colours and from many different regions. a starfish is flesh and when it cuts it legs or body it will either repair itself depending on the cut or continue to slowly rip apart and die. They are two types of corals in the ocean, your stony and softy. then you have your invertebrates, fish, etc..
