Just 2 weeks ago, my boyfriend & i moved into our new home, any way, we have 2 betta fish, 1 male 1 female, & they are in a little tank for betta fish with a divider, so the male is on one side & the female is on the other side. Well, we've had 'em for 3 - 4 months already & the female fish, since the move, seems to be frightened and is always hiding behind her little tree. Everytime we go to feed 'em, she swims around like scared, & she doesn't eat. The male one is ok. What could be wrong with my female betta? could it be just a phase or could the move to a new house have affected her? We still have them on the same place as before. Please help! thanks.

Bettas like to maintain their territory. Yo have obviously changed things enough that she no longer recognizes where she is. Give her some time to work things out. Don't feed her for a few days, it won't hurt her but uneaten food will.

Betta fish get their cues from colors. Look at what's been place around outside the tank that wasn't in their last environment.

It has to do with colors. I moved my beta fish from a mundane tank to one that was supercolorful, and she did the same thing. It's kinda scary.

The only thing I can think of regarding the female Beta is that there must be light or a plant or something different on her side of the tank. When I moved my fish, the light from the window, or a wall, or a plant, anything that was different, made my fish not eat for awhile. They got used to it eventually, but you may lose her if you don't figure it out. Take note of anything such as light from a window, a plant or a white wall next to her side of the tank which could be bothering her..
