If i was to Freeze My fish would it Kill Him2007-11-24 23:36:04

if its tropical, freezing it will kill it.

eat him.
Just take him out of the water.
I think he would still feel the pain anyway. Just flush him down the toilet.
If it's a tropical fish, yes, it will. You don't need to actually freeze him, just drop him into a glass of ice water. It is quick and kinder than salting him down or removing him from the water.
what terrible answers. NO SALT in the water, no smooshing, flushing or other barbaric means for killing this poor guy. He is really sick and real fishkeepers freeze their fish. It is most humane. They get hypothermic, just like people, go to sleep and die a painless (supposed) death. Salt would burn them. Think about putting salt in an open wound and that is what happens to them. They will not wake up when unfrozen. and pond fish are not frozen in the water, which causes irrepairable damage to cells, but are in VERY cold water. They slow down their body functions, they are hibernating not frozen. Sorry but why answer the question if you don't know the answer.
dude get yourself a cat ask the cat to open his mouth wide open and shove your lazy fish into the cats mouth.Im sure before that fish goes inside the cats stomach that fish will wake-up and will say O ITAW-ITAW a puttytat and im now intide the tomach of the puttytat.
I won't freeze him. It'll be very painful for the fish I'd take him out of the water and put him over the heater. it'll be a fast death
Since June? Hummm, are you sure he's not dead already?
Well if you throw him into cold water he'll die a frightening death of shock. My suggestion, something i've actually done myself before-find a nearby pond, stream, river, or lake-something with a little bit warmer water (do this in the middle of the day when it's warmer) stick him in a baggie with some water from his tank, place the bag in the lake/pond/stream/river and hold it there for a few minutes while the water in the bag reaches the same temp as the water in the lake/pond/stream/river then carefully open the bag and release the poor little fella. He'll have a few moments of freedom and mother nature will take it's course. I suggest releasing him in an area where there isn't much current and where it's relatively shallow. I wouldn't suggest it for a saltwater fish, however, as they would die a quite unpleasant death this way (that is, unless you're near an ocean)-so perhaps putting it in a plastic bag with some tank water and then putting that bag in a freezer or cooler full of ice would slow the fish's system and would essentially put him to sleep-if you left him in there for a good twenty four hours he would not wake up. I admire your compassion, best of luck to you, and may your fishy go to a better place.
of course it would kill him. but don't you think that's a cruel thing to do? just let him die peacefully. im sure it will pass away soon
If he's not swimming, then it's only a mater of time before he dies. Just let him live out the rest of his life in the aquraium.
This is the best way to dispose of a live fish. He will not feel ant pain. Just put him a disposable cup.
Never tried.. will be bad for it.!
This may sound cruel but it would kill the fish almost instantly..boil up some water and then toss your sick buddy in there. After that give him a burial in the septic system.
