Is beta slime normal
Is beta slime normal2007-11-24 23:37:13
My friend has a beta that produces a lot of slime in its bowl. Is this normal? If not, is her beta sick and is there a way to stop the slime? I've seen other questions about this and the answers don't help at all.
Answers:yes, it is! take care!
I have a beta and I don't see any slime in the bowl.
Maybe the water needs to be changed. Just a guess.
Look at the slim closely, it could be eggs. I thought mine was sick and I took it to a fish store and that is what they told me.

I have had 4 bettas (all in seperate bowls) for 2-3 years and they all have that "skin" of slime on the top of the water. It is normal and doesn't hurt the fish. Sometimes it will get thick enough to skim off the top, but usually just changing the water will keep it in check.
BTW, I believe it is to facilitate the building of the bubble nests that the males buld when they want to breed.
Well if the slime is chunky then it is the water but if it's not then I don't know
