Is it ok if my fish tank smells alittle like clorine2007-11-24 23:11:35
it was sat for 4 days now. i have 3 goldfish in their.
Answers:No, its mean your not dechlorinating your water and is harmfull to your fish and at the same time you need atleast 35 more gallons for your goldfish(all species needs at least 25-30gallons of water each).
So you need to go to the pet store and ask for a dechlorinator for your fish usually its 1teaspoon per 10gallons.
Hope this helps
WT
no. pick up some better de-chlor drops and use as directed. Long term exposure to small amounts of chlorine can kill the fish
As long as you don't care about your fish, then it is ok. If you want them to live, spend the measly three dollars and dechlorinate.
HI Hassan, I suspect what you are smelling is simply that 'clean pond smell' associated with fish tanks, an easy assumption, especially when starting out with fish keeping-any chlorine that was in there (& there shouldn't have been because you treated it first right?) would have evaporated after a day or so anyway.
the smell of chlorine=chlorine in your tank, most likely. Chlorine is harmful, get it removed.
You should put some declorinater or clean the tank.
