Yes it would be ok as the betta and the gourami wil not harm the snails or vice versa, if the snails get to be aproblem then a loach of some sort like a clown loach will consume any young snails.

You might want to ask the people at the petshop, but we have a freshwater tank with Beta, and two black snails and two gold snails. I'm not sue if gouramis would be okay, But like I said ask the people at the petshop, they are supposed to know this kind of stufff.

yes, you could have snail with either of these types of fish. The mix of fish is questionable though. betas are very laid back towards any other fish that doesn't have long fins. so if the betta does not see the gouramis as a threat than the gouramis are safe. but gouramis tend to be aggressive fish and the betta is slow and non aggressive so my guess is that eventually you will have a dead or eaten betta. You have a better chance of this mix if the gouramis are dwarf, but its still very risky. keep a sharp eye on these guys to make sure no one is being picked on and remember, most of the picking is probably being done while you're not there watching. Also remember that snails multiply like crazy! (even if you only get one) good luck!

Sure they get along fine together, I've had all three in my aquarium at one time before and never had a problem, but be sure if you ever have to treat your water with Copper Safe for any illnesses, remove your snails for a few days to a couple weeks first as Copper Safe is harmful to all invertebrates and will kill them.

No harm, when you get tired of them get a loach to curb the population. They are fun to watch and you won't have to upset the chemical balance of your water.
