i have five babies in a breeding tank and one looks pregnant..what should i do?

Not possible at all. It might a genetic defect or a disease called dropsy. Remember that any fish fry require the cleanest possible water without stressing the fry too much. You should have a decent filtration unit in the fry tank and be doing water changes more often than with the adult fish.

As said before, a week-old guppy cannot be pregnant. It most likely just ate too much, and will be fine in a few hours. As long as it is still active and swimming around, it is probably still healthy.

How do u know the guppy is a week old?? Throw in some birth control and get it stopped. LOL

i know that some people will try to email me or i.m. me for this answer.so PLEASE DON'T. if you see a fish is suffering, the best thing to do is put it in a dixie cup and put in those fizzy alka seltzer things. i buy the kind that has tylenol in them. it takes the air away quickly and it's a fast painless death. some people want to flush fish, that 's actually the cruelest since they tend to live a long time before painfully dying of starvation and poor water conditions without oxygen. talk to the pet store, you may need antibiotics or something like that.
