Is it safe to put catfish and eel (from a fish tank environment) in garden pond
Is it safe to put catfish and eel (from a fish tank environment) in garden pond2007-11-24 23:37:20
The garden pond has 3 Koi, minnards and 3 frogs.
Answers:It depends where you are. Florida is often safe except in the coldest months. Also, it depends if the pool is heated. The water has to stay above 65 degrees for most species. If the pond is protected or has a deep end, that can help keep them in longer, but chances are if you want them to survive you'll have to remove them around the end of September. PS-You'll find they've grown a lot by then.
Im not sure. Maybe you should go on google.ca or yahoo and search it.
first of all, no, not safe due to winter temperature
second, the catfish and maybe the eel are predators
after they eat your minnows they will go after your koi
if they can't eat the koi they will suck their eyes out
damage their scales
