Is my beta fish sick

Is my beta fish sick2007-11-24 23:37:25

I have a male beta fish with a full belly and string-like tissue hanging from his belly. The tissue string is about 2 inches long and has a tissue ball at the end of it. He only swims at the top of the tank, and barely moves.

Answers:

Yup. You Beta is sick. It has a common illness and can be treated if you do it soon enough. It's called something like *gunk,* and you can buy medicine you put in the water at any pet store, but don't wait too long or your beta will die.

What's a male beta fish and how do you get one? Is it something on the internet? Like Mail beta?

If her barely moves then how does he swim at the top of the tank swimming isn't barely moving?

Well it doesn't sound healthy. He's probably gonna die soon. I had a fish just hang around right at the top of the tank and next thing you know, it was floating at the top of the tank. Maybe they are trying to get more oxygen or something, I don't know. But it doesn't sound like your fish has very long. Call the preist.
It sounds like he has a fungus. I would go out and buy him MarOxy. You can find it at any good pet supply store. Here is some additional information on how to get him better.
