Is my betta obese/over-weight2007-11-24 23:37:26
I'm adding a source for more information (below) about the swim bladder problem, what causes it, and how to treat it.
I hope this helps!
He does not look overweight to me. Most of the time at the store they do not feed them right and they are too skinny. Yours look normal.
try to make him swim in slim fast JK
Overweight??
Your fish is beautiful. I would greatful your fish looks like that.
He is actually probably very healthy, you can tell by the fins, they are vibrant and look "fluffy' which could give the apperance of being over weight but he deff isnt.
And besides Betas only eat untill they are full, so I dont think you should worry
it isn't the best angle but my fish was about that size and then i was wondering if it was over weight but it wasn't it was just solid and strong.
no he's not.
Dont worry ur betta is not obese. He's pefectly fine. Just feed him regularly. Not 2 much an not 2 little. But if he starts 2 look a lttle chubby than normal then u need 2 lessen his food intake. Bcz u dont want a chubby betta bcz he could possibly die from a heart attack or somethin like tat! An c if u can get him a female 2 go right bside him. An if u want u can start raisin baby betta's. But tats ur decision. So have fun an good luck!
he looks very healthy to me actually. and his fins are spread and not laid down so he is happy and healthy and in no distress. he's fine.
no just watch if he starts acting wierd
Well he looks like he's a bit big from that angle but you should feed him 2 pellets every day or 3 pellets every other day.
He looks healthy to me, nice set up.
Your Betta looks great! I would say he is a bit robust, but healthy. If you are concerned, just cut back just a tiny bit and he will be just fine. Just vary his diet with some live food every now and then. He will burn calories hunting down his food.
no your betta is not obese. he actually looks quite healthy, and well fed. The older males get, the bigger. and also, males can become bigger because of how they were raised by the father. I have an older male who is almost twice the size of my other two males. so there is no need to worry about him being obese.
no it is not i would know cause i have one. as long as you don't over feed it then it is not over weight.
Looks good to me. Can I have him?
he looks fine to me
