Is my panther grouper sick
I have had a panther grouper for about 2 months and he has always been very active. This last weekend he got big enough to try to eat one of my other fish. He got the fish almost all the way down before we caught him and he spit the whole fish back out. We immediately moved him to a separate tank we had been getting ready to move him to anyway. Now he just sits and the bottom breathing very very heavily. He isnt swimming or eating. I have tested the water several times and all of the levels are completely normal, and they are almost completely identical to the tank he was in before. Can anyone help me with why he is acting so sickly?
Answers:maybe hes lonely tri buying and other fish same kind but different sex it might help him control his anger and it will make him happy
or he might have a Disease
or he might be recovering from almost eating the fish.

Hes lonely. you could try to get another fish the same size or the same breed and same size
Or he is getting old (probably not)
Stress.New tank and losing his meal.Is he eating at all now? Is he alone in new tank?
could be try a water change (small one)
Your grouper might be going through shock. what kind of fish did your grouper try to eat? Compared to the first tank he was in,is there any major differance in ;p/h temp.hardhess,was the tank cycled(benifical bactera)ammonia present in the water.The reason I ask all these questions is to make it easier to figure out why he is (acting like he's stressed.You see if the water conditon in the new tank varies alot,it can be the cause.
I don't know alot about fish, but his behavior makes me think that he got injured when he spit out the other fish. He may make a recovery but it does not sound good. Good luck.
