They are mosty peaceful with other fish, but can become aggessvie with their own kind. They don't need anything special, they eat most foods, including flake and pellet food. They also don't get very big, about 4 or 5 inches for males and females tend to be little bigger.

By the way Blue Gourami has a few variaties, Opaline Gourami, Three Spot Gourami and many more.

I have kissing gourami and from what I understand the gourami are partially community fish. Don't put them in your tank if you have smaller fish because they will kill them. They work well with Oscars though. Yes, they both love to kill the smaller fish together. I found that one out the hard way.

Hi KimS here;Yes it is a Ok fish/ but what else you put in with it may not be good.They are a very fast fish and can eat the tails of other fish.Do not put live breeders in with him /he will kill them all.

I had 2 kissing gouramis.They both died within a week. Infact one died yesterday. From what I've learnt is that they are not meant for bowls. They don't require an oxygenator as they are labyrinth fish and even if the water is saturated with oxygen they will come to the surface to gulp in air. So if you're gonna have them,make sure they have access to the water surface. Sudden change in water/temp can be fatal.The small ones won't eat big pieces of food, you gotta crush the food into almost a powder. They are a peaceful sort but can get delicate. They require alot of space to swim. They are nice fish.. but you have to be careful as far as the temp/chemical levels/cleanliness of the water is concerned.

I miss my gouramis :( I made alot of mistakes. So I hope I've helped you and maybe you can keep your gouramis happier than I did.
