I currently have just six goldfish in the tank.
Answers:a plecostumus, house keeper, snails or a weather loach.
hope this helps.
cyclone
Yeppers, Algae eaters.correct name.plecostumus. They are very gentle fish and tanking them with goldfish shouldn't be aproblem at all.
You can get aquatic snails. They are cheap and they will clear the algae away.
sharks
watch FINDING NEMO, BUT IT WAS SALT WATER SORRY
Your algae bloom is usually the result of over feeding. A good rule of thumb is only give the fish food amounts the size of their eyeballs.
Goldfish additionally are some of the dirtiest fish around. Do water changes frequently.
snails will it algae. and fish that i call sucker fish theres another name for them. can get them both at wal mart
snails and alga eaters
Plecostomus, ghost shrimp, Corydora catfish, these are peaceful creatures and are small. You can get all of these at wal-mart at a cheap price.they get along great with my guppies and neon tetras but goldfish can be a bit aggressive so I would ask about the ghost shrimp and catfish but plecostomus is definite ok =)
they are called algae eaters. Just ask for them at the fish store.
Yep - you can get anything from common Plecs for this or even better are SAE's (Siamese Algae Eaters). SAE's are tougher to find than common Plecos, but either will do the job quite nicely (however - bear in mind that the common plec can reach a size of up to 18", so unless you have a least a 55g tank - I would look for SAE's).
i think the algae eaters are sort of ugly, so i got 2 big snails
there are asian algea eater fish that can live with goldfish as well as there are plactimuses (algea eaters)
go to the local pet store and ask them for more types
get the green midget shrimp they eat algea
