Pond is outside with Koi and goldfish.
Answers:no difference at all. in fact, i use rock salt in all my ponds
(rock salt is also ice cream salt)
I could be wrong, not an expert on that, but I'd guess the only real difference is gonna be the price & packaging.
The artificial marine salts being made today are the products of years ofbexperience and study and completly suitable for setting up and maintaining even the most delicate fishes and invertabrate, on the other hand pond/sea water is not sterile; it is teeming with life, even a bucket full of what seems to be water is full of bacteria, viruses and myriad varieties of minute plants and animals.

I would think that the only real difference is that you can get much bigger bags of pond salt than aquarium salt. So in other words, not really. ;)
