what kind of fish? Bottom feeder is more of a category than a type of fish.
Most likely it's nothing to worry about. It just sounds like he's reached marity, and he's feeling a bit frisky. I wouldn't worry unless he's show other sign of poor health.
it is all normal he will clean what he can you have to do the rest what kind of fish do you have? my pleco is about 2 1/2 -3 inches and when I first got hin I thought he was doing a great job but as my Oscar gets bigger ang bigger he can only do so much and I do the rest also he is kind of in a small tank 5 gallons is way TOO SMALL! they can live for 15 years and reach a size of 24 inches through out the years
