Isnt it mean to keep a beta in a little cup2007-11-24 23:37:53

I think the betas are so pretty, but why do people keep them in a tiny little cup? I think that is mean, or is it?

They are only suppose to be in a cup at the store, then when you get them home, put them into a tank..

i don't think its nice for them.. i imagine they would like something bigger.. at least thats what i would think

They are evil little deamons and they bite your fingers off, so we're trying to get them as close to hell as possible.

no even if you put it in 10 gallons of water it will remain in the place that you put it .. it doent swim around ..

I've seen that and don't like it either. They are meant for something larger!

It's not mean really because they don't need it but I think Betas could use a bigger space. And then beautify the bowl with some neat things to look at that will also make the fish happy!

No, it isn't mean as long as their water is kept clean, and they are fed and taken care of. In the wild, they live in puddles in rice patties. They do not require a lot of room, but they are more active when in an aquarium. ;)

i know i hate how they do that at pet stores itz so cruel they dont have any were to swim!!

You know that is why I started buying them. I couldn't stand to see them in those little cups. I sort of went on a self induced "Free the bettas" campaign. I brought about 15 males and 22 females and studied about them to give them the best and healthiest lives possible. They are really a marvelous fish.
