The betta my friend gave me was definately abused. The water was so murky that you couldn't see the fish! The water smelled like *beep* and the fish was sick! They overfed it. You know that you are only supposed to feed a betta 2-4 pellets of. pellet food daily? She fed the poor thing 16! This is sickening.

CAN SOMEONE STAND UP FOR FISH ABUSE!!?? THIS IS WRONG! WHO'S WITH ME?? Tell me a story of abused fish, I'd like to know some more. BUT WHO AGREES THAT IF YOU GET A FISH, YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF IT? AND THEY HAD THAT FISH IN DISTILLED WATER! DISTILLED? UGH!! WHO AGREES ABOUT FISH *NOT* BEING ABUSED? PEOPLE ARE SOOOOO STUPID THESE DAYS!!

I remember last year i went to a fun fair and some teenage kid had won a goldfish on a stall. He then took this fish on one of the most fastest rides in the fair which also turned upside down. The man operating the ride offered to take the fish off him until the ride was over but the kid wouldnt hand it over. When the ride finally stopped, the kid came off laughing and holding the bag up to show his mates. Water was seeping out of the corners and the fish was head down, tail up in the bag. It was obvioulsy in deep distress and dying. I went on to the boy and offered him 拢20 to take this poor fish off him as i knew he would torture it even more but he refused to hand it over to me. After calling him all the b@astrds going, i walked away shaking, shocked and cried for days after. It still haunts me to this day. BAN FISH FROM FUN FAIRS!!

yeah, nowadays people think of fish as disposable pets. i agree that its horrible. if ur going to get ANY animal as a pet, you first need to know how to best take care of it, from all aspects.

I'm with you. I love having fish. Changing the water every week is a pain, but a job that has to be done.
