Jumping Issues w/ Dargon or Violet Gobies
I have found that I had to create a secure cover because my Dargon Gobie Has a Habbit of jumping out of the the water. Why I don't Know , but I have noticed it is happens more often when the weather is pre-stormy.
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this strange habit.
Thanks

Answers:barometric pressure changes that occur before a storm effect several things with marine fish one of them is breeding.male dragon Gobi's display for the ladies by jumping, this could be part of you problem.they are also nervous by nature, there could be some thing in your tank that is scarring your fish.allot of fish will take that leap when startled by the lights being turned on or off.
maybe he is scared
Egg crate (sold at large hardware stores to diffract the light from florescent lights in buildings) can be an extremely cheap aquarium lid.
He is probably figuring that the rain will provide a better puddle for him to live in. Are you using freshwater salt for him? You may want to consider marine salt as it will do a much better job of maintaining the water hardness, alkalinity and pH.
